We built this portable UVC wand to pack serious disinfection power into something you can actually hold. It runs on 400V, and that’s not just a random number. That voltage is what it takes to fire up—and keep steady—the high-pressure discharge inside the quartz tube. That headroom is what makes the 2500W rating possible, and that wattage translates into a strong blast of UVC. The result? Fast pathogen kill rates, right when you need them. And the 300mm tube length? It’s a careful compromise. Enough reach to cover more surface per pass, but still light enough that your arm doesn’t get tired.
Materials and Design: The Details That Matter
The lamp uses a quartz envelope with a special coating that lets the 254nm UVC through while stopping ozone from forming. So you get focused germicidal action, without the unwanted byproducts. Inside, a halogen fill keeps the arc stable, so output stays consistent even as temperatures shift. For the electrical connection, we went with an R7s connector. It handles the high current, locks in solid contact, and makes replacement a straightforward swap on compatible fixtures.
